Due to COVID-19, Hume Tennis and Community Centre met with an infectious disease specialist who declared Hume Tennis a safer place to visit than supermarkets or schools.
Dr Colin Carbis who has worked for over 40 years in infectious diseases and for the Department of Agriculture specialising in infection control, immunology, ecotoxicology, vaccinology and disease eradication feels Hume Tennis is a safe option for families to spend their time during this unprecedented time.
In the video below Dr Colin thoroughly explains the measure Hume Tennis staff and coaches will implement to minimise any risk there is of coming to the tennis centre.
In summary some of Dr Colin’s recommendations to us include:
- spray methylated spirits every two hours over common areas
- spray tennis equipment regularly (balls, tubes etc) – coaches will have this on-court
- handle money with gloves and encourage people to pay with credit card
- players and patrons remain two metres from each other (where practical)
All tennis lessons, social tennis and court hire will continue as scheduled. If you would like to Book A Court at Hume Tennis – please CLICK HERE
