Hume Tennis and Community Centre have been shortlisted for two prestigous Tennis Victorian Awards – “Club of the Year” and “Tournament of the Year”.
“Being shortlisted in the Tournament of the Year is such a privilege” said Tim Connelly, the centre’s manager. ” To be nominated with clubs that have been around for generations when we only started 2.5 years ago is a great compliment for all involved at Hume” – Connelly said.
The Melbourne Wheelchair Tennis Open is an ITF saunctioned tennis tournament held each January at Hume and sees the best wheelchair players in the world compete. The tournament provides transport, catering, on court services for the players and their entourages – so it is just like a mini Australian Open.
