2020 Australian Open Live Site comes to Hume Tennis

Craigieburn Tennis, January 10th 2020

Hume Tennis & Community Centre, one of Australia’s best tennis complexes, situated in Craigieburn, is transforming into an Interactive Live Site for this summer’s 2019 Australian Open.

Each day and night for 14 days everyone is welcome to watch the Australian Open on a cinema sized outdoor LED screen and then jump on the courts to imitate their favourite players’ best shots.

Hume Tennis & Community Centre Director, Tim Connelly, said to have an outdoor community event that is linked to an iconic Australian sporting event is the next best thing to experiencing the amazing Australian Open vibe.

“Each day from 11am, families are welcome to come in to the Centre and enjoy the tennis on the big screen as well as trying their hand on court themselves on the same surface as the Australian Open.”

“We want to offer families in Craigieburn and surrounding areas more interactive and outdoor community activations. With free entry each day there is no reason why families or groups of friends can’t come down and experience the fun of tennis.”

During this time, Hume Tennis & Community Centre will also host the Stockland Melbourne Wheelchair Tennis Open from the Wednesday January 22nd – Sunday 26th . Attendees will be treated to two amazing experiences: being able to watch the best wheelchair tennis players in the world in person, as well as watching the world’s best tennis players like Roger Federer and Ash Barty live from the Australian Open.

“We will have our café open to serve lunch and dinner each day, which will feature a new pizza menu and licensed bar. To complement this, patrons will enjoy live music (from 5pm on selected nights) and introductory free tennis lessons for juniors and adults.
