Pickleball meets Sport and Spark at Hume Tennis
Hume Tennis & Community Centre is excited to partner with the Sport & Spark initiative for two special Come & Try Pickleball community events on:
- Saturday 10th October, 1-4pm
- Saturday 21st November, 1-4pm
Sport & Spark is a community engagement project coordinated by the Yarra Energy Foundation and supported by the Victorian Government’s Cheaper Home Electric Energy Program (CHEEP). The initiative is designed to connect local communities with practical information about household electrification through accessible, engaging community activities.
Learn, Play and Discover
The Hume events will bring together two exciting themes: the future of energy and the future of community sport.
Families will have the opportunity to come along and learn more about household electrification and the transition towards electric homes, while at the same time getting on court and experiencing pickleball – one of the world’s fastest-growing sports.
The Sport & Spark program is specifically designed to engage communities through local activities, providing household electrification information and resources while working with local organisations to make the information relevant and accessible.
For Hume Tennis, combining this initiative with pickleball is a natural fit. Pickleball is easy to learn, highly social and suitable for a broad range of ages and abilities, making the Come & Try sessions a great opportunity for parents, children, grandparents and friends to participate together. PLUS there are great prizes to be won.
