We are so proud to announce Mia Stefanovska, a dedicated and passionate Junior Development Coach at Hume Tennis, has been recognised by Tennis Australia’s with the prestigious “Women in Tennis” scholarship by Tennis Australia President Jane Hrdlicka.
As a young female coach, Mia has already made significant contributions to our sport and in particular Hume Tennis. Her love for tennis, her dedication to coaching, and her ability to inspire others have led her to this remarkable achievement. The scholarship is a testament to her potential and the positive influence she continues to have on the Hume Tennis community.
The President’s Women in Tennis scholarship aims to encourage more women to join the coaching ranks of our sport. A diverse and inclusive coaching community is crucial for the growth of tennis. Women, like Mia, bring a fresh perspective and create an environment that strengthens the sport’s spirit and inclusivity.
Tim Connelly, Mia’s mentor and coach, shares his pride in her accomplishment, “Mia is an extraordinary young woman. Her passion for tennis, her dedication to her players, and her commitment to improving every day make her a standout coach. We’re incredibly proud of her achievement, and we’re excited about the positive impact she will continue to have on our sport and our community.”
The scholarship aims to provide the necessary resources and support for Mia to further enhance her coaching skills. It will also provide an opportunity to connect with and learn from other women coaches. This award encourages Mia to undertake coaching qualifications at all levels of the sport. From introducing children to Tennis Hot Shots, to honing the skills of social players and competitors at tennis clubs, and even advancing within the performance pathway, the opportunities are endless.
Upon receiving the scholarship, Mia expressed her gratitude and hopes for the future, “I’m incredibly honoured to receive this scholarship. Being recognised for my contribution to the sport that I love is truly humbling. My hope is that this achievement will inspire more young females to step onto the court and explore the many opportunities that tennis has to offer.”
Mia’s recognition serves as a beacon of inspiration for other young females in the sport, further encouraging diversity and representation in tennis. Congratulations, Mia, on this well-deserved scholarship. We look forward to seeing your continued growth and influence on our sport.
