In a spectacular NEW initiative and celebration of one of Australia’s most beloved sports, the Hume Council’s premier tennis clubs, Hume Tennis and Sunbury Lawn, are set to host their Tennis Open Days. Scheduled for Sunday, February 11th, from 10 am to 2 pm, these events promise to serve up great fun and an opportunity to TRY tennis.
The two clubs are located at either end of the Hume Council’s boundaries which means the clubs offer convenient access to residents throughout the region. The initiative comes on the heels of the 2024 Australian Open, which attracted over a million spectators, highlighting the people’s love for the sport. The Open Days will offer people of all ages and abilities to with tennis, echoing the inclusive spirit of the Australian Open.
The day is set to be a tennis extravaganza. Juniors can enjoy Tennis Australia’s Hot Shots sessions, designed to introduce them to the sport in a fun and engaging way. Meanwhile, adults can try the new Cardio Tennis, a fitness-focused program designed to teach players how to hit and play. Both Hume Tennis and Sunbury Lawn will offer free court hire, allowing everyone to just come down and have a hit.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Everyone can look forward to a host of activities beyond the courts. Essential Open Day attractions like face painting, jumping castles, and a sausage sizzle are sure to keep the family entertained throughout the day.
