Hume Tennis Breaks Records with 10 Teams in Grand Finals

Hume Tennis and Community Centre this week is celebrating a historic milestone, with a record-breaking 10 teams representing the club in grand finals. Competing in the North Suburban Association competition, this achievement highlights the incredible growth and success of the club, as well as the dedication of its players, families, and coaching staff.

The teams will compete across a variety of formats and age groups, showcasing the depth of talent at Hume Tennis:

  • North Suburban Night Tennis Association:
    • Wednesday: 2 mixed teams (A Grade and C Special 1)
    • Thursday: 2 men’s teams (A Grade and C Special 4)
  • Friday Night Junior Competition:
    • A Grade 3 Boys and A Reserve 4 Boys
  • Saturday Morning Junior Competition:
    • C Grade 1, C Grade 3, D Special 2, and D Special 4

Daniel Massa, Lead for Teams and Competitions at Hume Tennis, expressed his pride in this achievement. “To have such strong representation in the grand finals is incredibly rewarding for the club. It’s a testament to the dedication of our players and their families who work so hard throughout the season,” he said.

Adding to the excitement, the A Grade night tennis teams on Wednesday and Thursday feature several Hume Tennis coaches. This unique element brings inspiration and aspiration to the club’s junior players. Coaches Kale Nairn, Sam Chawla, Aadi Tewari, and Shaik Osama will compete for the club’s first-ever A Grade Men’s title, while coach Leann Serna will lead the A Grade mixed team in their final.

Looking ahead, Hume Tennis is preparing for another growing tennis year in 2025, with a record number of junior players joining the club, including a team competing at the prestigious A Special level.
