My First Tournament (MFT) is the start of the dream — teaching young tennis players, “how to play the game”. We know tennis lessons teach players how to hit while tennis tournaments teaches players how to play.

At Hume Tennis & Community Centre, we believe a child’s first tournament should be FUN and teaches them the “how to play’. That’s exactly what creating a positive first step into competitive tennis.

MFT is the perfect introduction for Hot Shots Tennis players, designed to build confidence and enjoyment. We offer competitions in Red Ball, Orange Ball, Green Ball and Yellow Ball, so every child plays in the right stage for their development.

All age groups play a round-robin format, ensuring maximum matches with no fear of early elimination. Matches are played on the same court sizes kids train on, making the experience familiar and comfortable. This tournament is not about winning or losing — it’s about learning, trying, and enjoying the game.

If this is your child’s first-ever tournament, don’t worry about scoring or rules. Our coaches — and even parents — are there to guide and support them on court. The winner receives a trophy, and every other participant receives prizes as a reward for their effort and participation, because every child who steps on court is a winner.
The true objective is to create a love for tennis and see big smiles at the end of the day. 🎾😊
