Flyover Video of Hume and 2017 News

2017 has seen so many new tennis programs, tennis competitions and tennis tournaments at Hume. In 2016 Hume was named one of Tennis Victoria’s Top 25 clubs and now has its eye on the Top 10.

In January we hosted the Melbourne Wheelchair Open that saw the best wheelchair players in the world compete. We also had Tennis Australia  junior (JT) and senior (AMT) tournaments where over 230 players competed for different titles.

International touring teams also visited Hume – we had a junior challenge event against a New Zealand Team and had a group of 40 adults from the USA jump off a plane and head straight to Hume to play “Jetlag Tennis”.

On the finals day of the 2017 Australian Open, Ray White held their annual Auction Carnival Day at Hume. There was so much to do for the local community including: petting zoo, inflatables, face painting, BBQ and 10 houses sold. The auctions are a great chance for new property owners in the area witnessing the typeof community facilities they can access by moving into the local area.

February 2017, saw Hume enter it’s first ever teams into the local North Suburban Junior Tennis Association. 12 teams consisting of 80 players play each weekend – with teams now having played for 7 weeks, many of our teams are in the top 4. There are also 2 teams entered in the adult regional competition who play each Saturday afternoon. In April 2017, Victorian Pennant Teams will represent Hume for the 2nd year.

February and March 2017 saw the start of our junior 2017 tournaments. Junior Tennis Tournaments are such a big part of Hume’s yearly schedule – each event see players come from all over the Melbourne Metropolitan and Country Regions. Events from under 6’s through to under 17’s means all ages and levels can compete.
