Hume Tennis closes for four weeks due to COVID-19

Thursday July 2nd, 2020

Hume Tennis & Community Centre is closed as of July 1st 11.59pm and for four weeks due to the announcement that certain suburbs returning to Stage 3 restrictions – Hume Tennis falls within one of the highlighted “Hot Spot” postcodes 3064.

As per Government guidance on the DHHS website, ‘community sport training and competition cannot occur within a restricted postcode. If you live in an impacted area you cannot participate in community sport elsewhere.’

At this stage, all tennis programs and court access will cease from Wednesday 1st July at 11.59pm to Wednesday July 29th.

As a result we will be closed for the rest of the school holidays and unfortunately all holiday programs are cancelled. If you have paid for a program – all fees will be credited to future programs.

For members and players in classes, there will be no direct debits until July 30th and all members on a direct debit will be automatically placed on a suspension – so there is no need to contact the office. Any missed days in this membership period will be credited to your next direct debit.

We are in constant consultation with Hume City Council, Tennis Victoria and Victorian State Government regarding the current situation and will communicate with everyone if there are any changes.

Thanks for your understanding in this time and we want to ensure all tennis players that Hume has your family’s health as a priority.

We hope everyone respects the return to Stage 3 and know the quicker we accept the situation the quicker we will be back on the court.

See message below from Manager Tim Connelly regarding the recent announcement and what this means to players and members access to Hume Tennis from Wednesday July 1st 11.59pm.
